Classic Rocking Horses - UK Rocking Horse Makers and Restorers

Antique Rocking Horses

We have been restoring fine antique furniture for some 30 years, and bring all our knowledge and experience to the restoration of our rocking horses. We take no easy shortcuts, and use only the best materials and tried and tested methods. All our antique rocking horses date from about 1880 to 1930, the golden period of the English dappled grey rocking horse, and have been thoroughly but sympathetically restored in our workshop.

Rocking horses were produced in a wide range of sizes, from the very small to the extra large, but the two sizes most popular were medium (38 inches high from floor to top of ear) and large (48 inches high). The pictures below are examples of our fully restored antique rocking horses:

We recently restored this handsome large Victorian rocking horse - a fine example of rocking horses by F.H.Ayres, London.

Our new rocking horses are largely based upon this style of rocking horse.

This delightful Edwardian medium rocking horse, also restored by us, was made by G&J Lines of London.
